BAM Studios was thrilled to work on the latest Big Ten Network documentary for Purdue ’99 Womens’ Basketball Team. Audio engineers, Matt Sauro and Sean Sbarbori, sound designed and mixed the hour-long episode titled “Passion and Perseverance” which airs on January 31st at 10/9c on BTN. Check out the trailer below:
The movie highlights the struggles the women’s basketball team endured and tells the compelling emotional story of how it dealt with constant changes ranging from their continuous loss of recruits to the switching of their coaches.
After four years of pushing through the challenges and dealing with the decimation of the basketball team, senior players Stephanie White and Ukari Figgs as well as other players who stuck to the team finally won the 1999 NCAA National Championship at Purdue. White also won the 1999 Big Ten Player of the Year and Wade Trophy.
The 1998–99 Purdue Boilermakers women’s basketball team was the first Purdue basketball team to win a national championship. The team was undefeated in conference play, and finished the regular season with one loss.
