The Bloom School of Jazz and its founder David Bloom came to BAM to mix its hour-long documentary, “Cool Heat”. The documentary focuses on Bloom’s “Cool Heat” concert, held on November 24th 2013 to celebrate 38 years of the school’s musical history and alumni. BAM’s Dave Leffel, who worked to mix the interviews and performances for the documentary, said “it was great to watch the musical selection that David put together and get a glimpse of stellar performers that have come through the school.” The performances include French jazz harpist Isabelle Oliver, thirteen-time Grammy winner Steven Rodby, vocalist and songwriter Phil Bruni, and Chicago Tap Theater director Mark Yonally, among several others.
