BAM had a blast doing sound design and mixing for the all-new Big Ten Experience! This Big Ten museum has opened a brand-new facility located on the first floor of the Big Ten Conference Headquarters in Rosemont, IL. BAM’s Matt Sauro mixed and sound designed all visual media for the highly interactive museum, partnering with the creative team at TeamWorks Media.
Sauro’s work can be heard all over the museum, in dozens of video vignettes that are showcased in exhibits throughout the building. However, Matt says that the most exciting part of this project was working on the twelve short films that are featured in the facility’s state-of-the-art “B1G Theater”. “This is a fully immersive surround sound theater located in the museum that will play a short film related to the school the user selects,” says Matt. “Each film is designed to highlight something the school excels in and each is created with tons of style, drama and impact.” Matt says that the most interesting element of these projects was designing sound for a single location. “I got to work with the designers of the museum and TeamWorks to create a fully customized audio experience for just that single playback environment….I have to hand it to the creative team at TeamWorks for producing some top notch content. It was a ton of fun working on their stuff!” The Big Ten Experience in currently open to the public, and has free admission.
