Brian Reed’s BAM Studio is one of the city’s best kept secrets – but not in L.A. which sends a lot of recording and ADR work to the Streeterville studio here. Case in point: Reed recently recorded ADR of actress Lauren Holly – now a Lake Forest resident via her marriage – for a “CSI:Miami” episode. Race car scenes with Holly were shot in Miami, “but the cars were so loud we couldn’t hear her and her dialogue had to be replaced,” Reed said. “BAM is best known for mixing and sound design although we’ve made a name for ourselves in ADR,” says Reed. Besides recording local residents Laurie Metcalf and Joan Cusack, Warner Bros. last week tapped BAM to record Ray Clay, the screaming old time Bulls announcer for a “Cold Case” episode.
